Nicholas Masaba, the former Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of C-Care Uganda, has transitioned to a new role overseeing strategy and finances for a portfolio of up to eight companies in a major cold chain storage and logistics project across the East African Community (EAC), he announced recently.
Nicholas, who served as C-Care Uganda’s CFO , described the move as an opportunity for broader exposure within the region. “This role involves managing a network of facilities that will significantly reduce food wastage while offering cost-effective cold chain solutions for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and pharmaceutical companies,” he said. The project, backed by fund partners with a strong emphasis on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, prioritizes energy-efficient equipment and facilities.

Nicholas began his career at PwC in Kampala as a senior associate , later joining the firm’s Aberdeen office in the same role. He returned to Uganda as a manager at PwC . His career then pivoted to the banking sector, serving as head of finance and administration at NC Bank Uganda in February 2018. Later that year, he joined International Medical Group, Uganda, as group head of finance before his appointment at C-Care Uganda.
A certified ACCA professional, Nicholas holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from Makerere University and an MBA from Heriot-Watt University. His diverse expertise is expected to drive the success of the regional cold chain initiative, which aims to enhance sustainability and efficiency in East Africa’s logistics sector.
