SPIE Global Services Energy, an international subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has announced the appointment of Jérôme Violard as Chief Financial Officer with immediate effect.

Jérôme Violard, 57, a graduate of Paris Dauphine University – PSL (MSc in Management) and Panthéon-Assas University Paris II (specialist degree (DESS) in finance), started his career in 1990, working as a financial controller in Gabon and Angola within the Bouygues Bâtiment International Group. He then went on to become the Administrative and Finance Manager of Saipem’s Angolan subsidiaries, before joining SPIE Global Services Energy (formerly SPIE Oil & Gas Services [1]) in 2003 as the Administrative and Finance Manager of its Angolan subsidiaries. In 2008, he was posted to the United Arab Emirates to take on the role of Chief Financial Officer Middle East Asia Pacific.

Jérôme Violard has acted as Head of Group Financial Control, supporting the SPIE Nederland, SPIE Belgium and SPIE Global Services Energy subsidiaries, since 2020. He has acquired extensive financial experience in the construction and energy sectors over the past 34 years, which he will put to good use in his new role.

Jérôme Violard said “I’ve taken on this role at a time when our business is growing tremendously, and we are strengthening SPIE Global Services Energy’s strategy to diversify into renewable energies. This growth is enabling us to create new business opportunities and expand into additional countries, specifically those in North America. SPIE is placing external growth at the heart of its strategy. One of the biggest challenges I will face is the successful integration of acquired companies and the new services they offer. I also hope that the finance teams will be able to provide greater support to the operational teams of each of our international subsidiaries, which are the cornerstone of our business”.
