Brand South Africa appoints Sherylee Shaik as CFO

Sherylee Shaik has been appointed as the Chief Finance Officer of Brand South Africa, bringing a strong track record in financial governance, strategic oversight, and public-sector financial management.

A Chartered Accountant (SA) with an MBA and Postgraduate Diploma in General Management from GIBS Business School, Shaik has a distinguished career marked by progressive leadership in key institutions. She previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer at the Competition Tribunal of South Africa, where she drove financial strategy and regulatory compliance.

Before that, she served as Chief Financial Officer at the Johannesburg Development Agency for several years, overseeing budgets, cash flow forecasting, financial statements, treasury functions, and team performance. Her tenure at the agency also included roles as Finance Manager, managing administration, management accounts, and compliance, and as Accountant, handling creditor/debtor reconciliations, VAT submissions, payroll, and audit preparations.

Earlier in her career, Shaik was a Non-Executive Director at SITA SOC (Ltd) and a Senior Auditor at HLB Barnett Chown Inc, where she conducted audits, prepared financial statements, and led audit teams. A Chartered Accountant (SA) with an MBA and Postgraduate Diploma in General Management from GIBS Business School.
