Deloitte West Africa Names Yomi Olugbenro CEO-elect

Deloitte West Africa has announced the appointment of Yomi Olugbenro as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO-Elect), marking a key leadership transition for the professional services firm across the region.

‎The appointment, revealed in recent days, positions Olugbenro to succeed the outgoing CEO, Fatai Folarin, in a planned succession that underscores the firm’s strong leadership pipeline and commitment to sustained growth, client value delivery, and operational stability. Deloitte highlighted the move as a reflection of confidence in its internal talent, with Olugbenro set to steer the organization into its next phase while upholding core values and driving inspiration across teams.

‎Before this elevation, Olugbenro served as Partner and West Africa Tax Leader at Deloitte, where he distinguished himself as a seasoned advisor on tax and fiscal policy matters. He brings extensive experience leading strategic tax services, encompassing business tax, employment tax, international tax, transfer pricing, transaction tax, tax dispute resolution, tax strategy and risk management, tax structuring, and optimization solutions for diverse clients.

An alumnus of The University of Manchester (UK), he holds fellowships with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). He has also held influential roles such as Chair of the Board of Tax & Fiscal Policy Faculty at ICAN and former Chair of the Indirect Tax Faculty at CITN, while frequently speaking at local and international conferences on tax-related topics.
