Chemutai Murgor is a seasoned finance professional with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. She currently holds the position of Executive Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Standard Chartered Bank Kenya, a subsidiary of Standard Chartered Plc, a role she has held since 2007.
Chemutai’s career in finance began in 1992 when she joined Deloitte & Touche in London, UK, as a Trainee Accountant. She was promoted to Manager in 1996 and later advanced to the role of Senior Manager in 1998, based in Nairobi, Kenya.
She holds an MBA from the University of Warwick Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from the University of Nairobi.
Recognized as one of East Africa’s most influential women in finance, Chemutai also serves on the board of the Kenya Chapter of Women Corporate Directors, championing diversity in leadership.
Her contributions have been instrumental in driving the growth and stability of Standard Chartered Bank Kenya and its operations across Africa.
