Huruda D’Castro Malungane currently serves as Head of Finance, Human Resources, and Acting Risk Management at Liberty Health Mozambique, a strategic leadership role that positions her as the second-in-command to the Chief Financial Officer and a pivotal business partner to the Board of Directors.
A seasoned finance executive with a reputation for rigour, foresight, and operational excellence, she oversees the full spectrum of financial strategy, reporting, treasury, taxation, and budgeting while simultaneously driving human capital initiatives, corporate secretarial support, and integrated governance frameworks.
Since 2024, her mandate has expanded to include interim responsibility for risk management and the establishment of robust corporate governance policies that strengthen the interface between senior management and the Board, ensuring transparency, accountability, and the highest ethical standards across the organisation.
Her influence extends far beyond Liberty Health. As Founder and Community Executive Director of CFO Forum Moçambique, Huruda has built one of the country’s most respected platforms for financial leadership, fostering collaboration among CFOs, facilitating global partnerships, and serving as a Non-Executive Director on the Forum’s Board. Earlier, as Finance Operations Manager at Vodafone Mpesa – Vodacom Mozambique, she sharpened financial controls and audit processes.
Her tenure as Senior Assistant Financial Controller at Southern Sun Hotels honed her expertise in financial modelling, cash-flow forecasting, tax management and team leadership across complex hospitality operations.
With earlier roles at the British Council, MMO Managed Offices and REC Real Estate Consultancy, Huruda developed a versatile foundation in procurement, asset management and client-facing financial advisory.
