FirstBank Ghana appoints Titilayo Balogun as Executive Director and CFO

FirstBank Ghana has appointed  Titilayo Omotola Balogun as its new Executive Director/ Chief Financial Officer.

With over 25 years of extensive experience in commercial banking, primarily at First Bank of Nigeria Limited, she brings unparalleled expertise in steering financial strategy, governance, and operational excellence across complex banking environments.

Her illustrious career at First Bank of Nigeria includes serving as Head of Procurement Department, where she oversaw strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and supply chain efficiency to support organizational objectives.

Before that, she held the pivotal role of Head of Corporate Control, ensuring robust internal controls, risk mitigation, and compliance frameworks. As Head of Revenue Assurance and General Ledger Review, she drove rigorous financial accuracy, revenue integrity, and ledger reconciliation processes critical to banking performance.

Earlier, Balogun excelled as Manager of Credit Policy & Portfolio Management, shaping credit strategies, managing portfolios, and enhancing risk-adjusted returns. She began her tenure as Team Lead for Accounts, Management Information Systems, Cost Management, and Budgeting, laying strong foundations in financial planning, reporting, and resource allocation.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and holder of an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, United Kingdom, Mrs. Balogun is renowned for aligning financial management with corporate goals, fostering transparency, accountability, and high-performing teams. Her leadership emphasizes stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and innovative solutions that drive sustainable growth.

In her new role at FirstBank Ghana, Titilayo Omotola Balogun is poised to elevate financial oversight, strengthen governance, and contribute to the bank’s strategic expansion in the West African market, building on her proven track record of delivering value and resilience in dynamic financial landscapes.
