Citi has appointed Jeegar Shah as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its India franchise, effective June 1, 2024.
Jeegar will be the primary contact for financial matters in India and will provide strategic financial management support to Ashu Khullar, Citi Country Officer for India and Head of Banking for the Indian Sub-Continent.
Jeegar brings over 19 years of experience in finance, covering financial and regulatory reporting, audits, regulatory examinations, and strategic finance initiatives across Citi’s businesses. He has been serving as Interim CFO for India since February 2024.

Jeegar is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds a master’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai.
Before his interim CFO role, Jeegar served as the Cluster Controller for Citi’s South Asia Cluster. In his new role as India CFO, Jeegar will report to Mui-Eng Teo, CFO for Citi’s Asia South Cluster.
