He is a seasoned financial and business executive with over 15 years’ experience in finance and leadership roles for both listed and non-listed entities.
Mollel’s path has run through several of Diageo’s African and European operations. He began at Serengeti Breweries in Tanzania, joining as financial controller and taking on commercial finance responsibilities before becoming acting finance director and later becoming the finance director
He later joined Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC (Diageo) as the Finance & Strategy Director, where he ensured the finances of the company is monitored and the business is transformed. Mollel then joined Diageo Ireland where he worked as the Finance Director and proceeded to join East African Breweries PLC (EABL) where he is currently the Group Chief Financial Officer.

He was also named an Executive Director from 1 July 2026, so he sits on the board as well as leading the finance function.

Justin brings onboard a broad skillset spanning from strategy, business performance management, financial and statutory reporting, risk and change management, auditing, and regulatory matters.
He has been involved in turnaround and rapid high growth businesses operating in a highly volatile and competitive business environment.
At the defunct InstinctBusiness CFO Summit & Awards(now Africa Finance Festival), one of the continent’s most respected platforms for recognizing financial leadership excellence, Justin Mollel was named CFO of the Year in the Consumer Goods category.
The award was not ceremonial. It was a peer and industry validation of a finance leader who had, by that point, already steered Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC through some of the most turbulent macroeconomic conditions West Africa had seen in a generation: currency depreciation, inflationary pressure, demand volatility, and the post-pandemic recalibration of consumer spending.
