Here are the Top Three (3) CFOs of the Week:

Luka Mucic, Group Chief Financial Officer of Vodafone Group Plc has been recognized as InstinctBusiness CFO of the week.

Luka Mucic was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Vodafone Group Plc Board on 1 September 2023.

Previously Luka was the Chief Operating Officer of SAP SE from 2014-2017 and its Chief Financial Officer from 2014 until 31 March 2023. During these roles, he was responsible for SAP’s groupwide Finance, Legal, Data Protection, Procurement, Audit, Risk Management, Security, IT, and process management functions.

Luka began his career at SAP in 1996 and has held a series of management positions within the Global Finance and Administration division. He assumed responsibility for M&A projects, as well as for the global risk management function of SAP and the legal department of SAP Markets Europe.

After serving as CFO of SAP’s DACH region (comprising Germany, Austria and Switzerland) from 2008 to 2012, he became head of Global Finance and a member of SAP’s Global Managing Board in 2013. Luka also oversaw SAP’s sustainability efforts and was responsible for SAP’s Taulia and SAP Signavio business units.

Luka studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg and obtained a joint Executive MBA from Mannheim Business School and ESSEC Paris.

He is a member of the Supervisory Board of Heidelberg Materials AG.

With over 20 years of experience in financial management and strategic leadership, Popat is a seasoned expert in managing complex financial operations and spearheading growth initiatives. His distinguished career includes serving as the CFO for Citi’s Middle East and Africa divisions and Global Equities.

Popat’s professional journey has taken him across four continents, including significant roles in South Africa, the UAE, the UK, and the US. His global perspective perfectly aligns with Flutterwave’s mission to connect Africa with the world through cutting-edge payment solutions. His profound knowledge of financial markets and strategic acumen is set to bolster Flutterwave’s global expansion efforts and the acquisition of new regulatory licenses across various regions.

Popat’s appointment is timely for Flutterwave as the company solidifies its standing in the global fintech arena. His leadership is anticipated to steer Flutterwave through the challenges of international growth, refine its financial strategy, and help achieve its ambitious objectives.

Shannon Nash, a seasoned Chief Financial Officer at Wing, a drone delivery company and subsidiary of Alphabet, Inc., emerges as InstinctBusiness CFO of the week.

Shannon is a seasoned financial expert, attorney, and CPA with over 25 years of experience driving company growth through robust financial and operational leadership. She is a Board Member and serves on the Audit Committee of NetScout Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT), a leading software and cybersecurity firm safeguarding critical global networks.

She holds Board and Audit Chair positions at Lazy Dog Restaurants, a rapidly expanding chain with 41 locations across 8 states, and at SoFi Bank, a subsidiary of SoFi Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFI). Shannon previously held key roles at UserTesting (NYSE: USER), including Lead Independent Director, Chair of the Nominating & Governance Committee, and Audit Committee member, until its acquisition by Thoma Bravo in January 2023.

Beyond her professional achievements, Shannon is a fitness enthusiast, teaching Zumba and U-Jam Fitness in her spare time. She is also an award-winning documentary film producer, with her film Colored My Mind earning the Best Short Award at the 2013 American Pavilion in Cannes. Currently, she is working on her next film, On-Board, which explores board diversity and is slated for release later this summer.
