A leading insurance provider of innovative and life-ready insurance solutions in Canada, Securian Canada has appointed Martin Fortier as Chief Financial Officer.
In this role, Fortier will oversee the finance and actuarial departments, leading a multi-disciplinary team to enable Securian Canada’s ambitious strategy. Fortier’s leadership will be critical to Securian Canada’s financial strength as it continues to grow in the Canadian insurance market.
“As Securian Canada evolves and scales, we’re thrilled to have Martin as our new Chief Financial Officer,” said Nigel Branker, Chief Executive Officer. “His global knowledge and experience have added tremendous value to our business, and we anticipate continued strength and progress under his leadership in the CFO role.”
Fortier joined Securian Canada in August 2023, bringing more than 30 years of experience in global insurance and financial services. “This is an exciting time for Securian Canada, and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to lead this critical function of the company,” added Martin. “Combining actuarial and finance leadership will help ensure that all financial aspects of our business are aligned to drive sustainable and profitable growth. I look forward to strengthening our presence in the Canadian market alongside the best team in the industry.”
