Standard Bank Namibia has announced the appointment of Ernest Hamukwaya as Head of Risk Governance and Reporting, effective March 2026.
A qualified Chartered Accountant with more than eight years of progressive experience across banking, mining, insurance, and retail sectors, Hamukwaya brings a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and international exposure to the role.
Most recently, he served as Head of Finance and Governance at FNB Namibia (FirstRand Namibia), where he held senior positions including Finance Manager for Credit Reporting & Governance and Acting Head of Credit Reporting & Analytics. His international career includes significant roles at Deloitte, serving as Advisory Manager in the CFO Office in London, United Kingdom, and as Audit Manager in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where he led multidisciplinary teams on complex engagements.
In his new position at Standard Bank Namibia, Hamukwaya will oversee credit portfolio reporting and analytics, strengthen the bank’s governance frameworks, enhance risk management processes, and shape the execution of the institution’s credit risk management strategy. He will also be responsible for all internal and external risk reporting, including key regulatory submissions.
