Kwawukume is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in the banking and financial sector across multiple African markets. Currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Bloom Bank Africa Liberia Limited, he plays a critical role in overseeing the bank’s financial strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving sustainable growth.
Prior to his current role, Stephen held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Global Bank Liberia, a subsidiary of Oakwood Green Africa, where he managed financial operations and strategic planning for nine months. Before that, he spent nearly six years at Standard Chartered Bank, taking on multiple leadership roles.
He was CFO in The Gambia from 2020 to 2023, Financial Controller from 2019 to 2020, and Performance Manager in Ghana from 2017 to 2019. His expertise also extends to regulatory reporting, having served as Regulatory Reporting Manager at Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Ltd for over a decade (2007–2017).

Stephen’s career began in financial risk management and compliance, holding positions such as Risk and Compliance Officer for West and Central Africa at Standard Chartered Bank (2005–2007) and Accountant Officer at Rafit Ghana Ltd (2004–2005). With a strong foundation in financial control, regulatory compliance, and strategic management, he continues to contribute significantly to the financial industry, leveraging his expertise to drive operational excellence and fiscal responsibility.
