Derick oversees the bank’s finance function, creating value and ensuring robust financial stewardship in a dynamic market environment.
Derick’s career trajectory reflects a deep expertise in banking and finance across Tanzania’s top financial institutions. Prior to his current role, he served as General Manager Finance (CFO) at Bank of Africa Tanzania, where he was instrumental in strengthening financial controls and supporting sustainable business growth.
His earlier leadership roles include Director of Finance, Treasury & Resources Mobilisation at Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank, and key finance positions at Stanbic Bank Tanzania, including Corporate & Investment Banking Finance Head and Global Markets/Treasury Product Control Manager.

Derick’s academic credentials are equally impressive. He holds a Master’s degree in Professional Accounting & Finance from the University of London, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) accredited by the National Board of Accountants & Auditors, Tanzania, and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). His foundational education in commerce and finance was completed at the University of Dar es Salaam.
