Omera Naiker is the Chief Financial Officer of STANLIB Asset Management, where she oversees financial strategy and integrity for one of South Africa’s premier specialist investment managers.

With over 20 years of experience, Naiker works closely with the Board and Executive Leadership to maximize capital efficiency across the firm’s operations within Liberty Holdings and the broader Standard Bank Group.

Strengthening Financial Integrity and Capital Efficiency

At STANLIB, Naiker oversees the full finance function and regulatory capital compliance. Her mandate centres on ensuring the validity, completeness and accuracy of financial information while embedding rigorous controls that support sustainable growth.

She has focused on process rationalisation and continuous improvement, enabling the organisation to navigate complex regulatory requirements with greater agility and clarity.

A Career Built on Audit Excellence and Global Exposure

Naiker’s professional foundation was laid over many years at KPMG, where she rose from Senior Associate to Director and Audit Partner. She audited major institutions across banking, asset management and retirement funds, and gained international experience in Manhattan, New York, specialising in insurance clients.

A notable secondment involved collaborating on the outsourcing of Zurich Insurance’s internal audit function in South Africa. She later served as Chief Financial Officer of Investec for Business, where she stabilised the finance team and strengthened reporting discipline.At the financial helm of STANLIB Asset Management, Naiker safeguarding over R600 billion in assets under management.
