Tapiwa Butale, Chief Financial Officer, Standard Chartered Bank Bostwana Limited emerges as the IB CFO of the week

Ms. Tapiwa Butale, Chief Financial Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Botswana Limited (SBBL) a seasoned finance professional, making significant contributions to the finance function has been recognized as InstinctBusiness Magazine’s CFO of the Week.

Tapiwa brings over 15 years of extensive experience to her role, having joined the Bank in 2006 as a Financial Reporting Manager. Over the years, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic acumen, culminating in her most recent position as the Bank’s Financial Controller since 2015.

Throughout her tenure, Tapiwa has been instrumental in spearheading critical projects that have significantly contributed to the Bank’s finance function and overall strategic direction. Her accomplishments include driving finance transformation initiatives, overseeing the implementation of key regulatory and financial reporting changes, and modernizing capital and liquidity management processes, among others.

As a Chartered Accountant (ACCA), Tapiwa brings a strong foundation of financial expertise to her role. Furthermore, she has honed her leadership capabilities through various targeted management development and leadership training programs within the Standard Chartered Bank Group. Notably, she has participated in the Global Talent Accelerator Program, the Group’s flagship talent development initiative designed to nurture high-potential Senior Managers across diverse markets.
