by akinbodenaphtal@gmail.com

Bitmine Immersion Technologies, Inc., a Bitcoin and Ethereum network company focused on cryptocurrency accumulation for long-term investment, today announced the appointment of Young Kim as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Kim will also join the company’s Board of Directors, with the changes effective immediately.

Kim will report directly to Thomas “Tom” Lee, Chairman of the Board and founder of Fundstrat. The dual executive role positions Kim to drive Bitmine’s strategic roadmap, including its ambitious expansion of the Ethereum treasury.

“Young brings a vast range of skills, knowledge and expertise from his experience in finance, venture capital and engineering to Bitmine,” said Thomas “Tom” Lee. “He will play an integral role in helping to execute our roadmap and scale the business over the coming years.”

Kim, a seasoned investment executive with more than 20 years of experience managing multi-billion-dollar global portfolios, brings a unique “engineer-investor” perspective. His background includes early work as a software engineer, complemented by education from MIT and Harvard Business School. Most recently, he served as Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager at Axiom Investors from 2021 to 2025.

Before that, he spent a decade as Senior Portfolio Manager at Columbia Threadneedle Investments from 2011 to 2021. Earlier roles spanned investment research, venture capital, business development, and software engineering, where he demonstrated success in scaling assets, fostering product innovation, and executing sophisticated strategies.
“I’m excited to step into this dual role at a pivotal moment for Bitmine,” said Young Kim, the newly appointed CFO and COO.

“With a strong foundation in place, Bitmine is well positioned to scale, and I look forward to partnering closely with Tom and the leadership team to help drive growth and create long-term shareholder value.”

The appointment comes as Bitmine advances its “Alchemy of 5%” strategy to acquire 5% of the total Ethereum (ETH) token supply. Recent updates indicate the company holds approximately 3.43% of ETH, supported by a treasury that includes substantial ETH holdings, Bitcoin, cash reserves, and other investments. Backed by prominent institutional investors such as ARK’s Cathie Wood, MOZAYYX, Founders Fund, Bill Miller III, Pantera, Kraken, DCG, and Galaxy Digital, Bitmine combines Bitcoin mining operations with aggressive crypto treasury management.

The company is also preparing for its Annual Stockholder Meeting on January 15, 2026, at the Wynn Las Vegas, where shareholders will vote on key proposals, including board elections, an increase in authorized shares, approval of the 2025 Omnibus Incentive Plan, and executive compensation matters.

Analysts view the leadership enhancement as a strategic move to bolster governance and operational execution amid Bitmine’s rapid growth in the cryptocurrency sector. The company’s stock has seen heightened trading activity in recent weeks, reflecting investor interest in its treasury-focused approach.

Bitmine Immersion Technologies operates in low-cost energy regions and emphasizes secure, long-term crypto holdings through mining and capital-raising activities. The addition of Kim is expected to strengthen financial oversight, operational scaling, and strategic alignment as the firm pursues its cryptocurrency accumulation goals.
