Shani Kinswaga has served as Chief Financial Officer of Exim Bank (Tanzania) Limited since January 2020, bringing over 15 years of expertise in financial management, tax strategy, and corporate leadership to one of Tanzania’s leading financial institutions.
Based in Dar es Salaam, Kinswaga has played a pivotal role in driving Exim Bank’s financial strategy, ensuring robust compliance, and fostering sustainable growth in a competitive market.
Before his current role, Kinswaga spent over five years at the National Bank of Commerce Ltd in Dar es Salaam, where he held pivotal positions, including Head of Tax and Statutory Reporting and Acting Chief Financial Officer .
His leadership in tax compliance and statutory reporting strengthened the bank’s financial operations, streamlining processes and enhancing regulatory adherence.
Kinswaga’s career also includes a brief but impactful stint as Commercial Manager for the Sturrock and Robson Group in Tanzania , where he honed his skills in commercial strategy.
Before that, he held senior roles at PwC Tanzania, serving as Tax Manager and Senior Tax Consultant , advising clients on complex tax matters and building a reputation for precision and strategic insight.

His international experience includes a year as General Manager at DP Transitario in Luanda, Angola , where he managed operations in a dynamic market.
