Shareholders of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC have approved a final dividend of GH¢4.989 per ordinary share at the bank’s 56th Annual General Meeting, nearly three times the GH¢1.67 paid the previous year.

Albert Larweh Asante, Chief Finance Officer and Executive Director of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, said the payout underscores the bank’s strong performance and commitment to delivering value to shareholders.

“The ordinary dividend amounts to GH¢672.35 million. Together with a preference share dividend of GH¢1.13 million, the total approved payout stands at GH¢673.48 million, compared with GH¢227.94 million last year. This significant increase reflects our continued commitment to delivering value to shareholders,” Asante said.

At the meeting, the bank also presented its Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ended 31 December 2025. Asante reaffirmed Standard Chartered’s focus on positioning the institution for sustainable growth and long-term value creation.

He noted that Ghana’s improving macroeconomic outlook provides grounds for optimism, even as global uncertainties persist. “Our focus will therefore remain on disciplined execution, deepening client relationships and strengthening our capabilities to support future growth,” he said.

As the bank commemorates 130 years of continuous operations in Ghana, Asante emphasised its ongoing commitment to leveraging its international network, deep local expertise and differentiated cross-border capabilities.

“We remain committed to connecting Ghanaian businesses and institutions to global markets, capital and innovation,” he added.

The substantial rise in dividend payments highlights the bank’s robust financial position and its determination to share the benefits of its performance with investors while continuing to support Ghana’s economic development.
