Emma Ampah: A Visionary, redefining the Finance Department of Tex styles in Ghana

Emma Ampah standing as a pioneering figure in the finance sector, has made a name for herself for serving as the first female Finance Director of Tex Styles Ghana Limited, the producers of GTP and Woodin fabrics and marketers of Vlisco fabrics.

With a career marked by dedication, resilience, and a passion for mentorship, Emma has carved out a notable path in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Emma’s career began at PwC Ghana, where she joined as an Audit Associate in September 2010, following her B.Sc. in Administration from the University of Ghana Business School. Her time at PwC was characterized by a commitment to professional growth, exemplified by her self-study to complete the ACCA professional exams, becoming a full member in 2014. Additionally, she gained membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana in the same year.

Over eight years at PwC Ghana, Emma rose to the position of Assistant Manager, leading audits for major clients across the Energy, Mining, Manufacturing, and Telecom industries. Her excellence in mentoring and coaching was recognized with the PwC Experience Award for exceptional Coach/Mentor in 2014, highlighting her dedication to staff development.

In 2018, Emma transitioned to Tex Styles Ghana Limited as Finance Manager. Her expertise and leadership skills led to her promotion to Business and Project Controller, and eventually, Finance Director in 2023. Throughout her tenure, she has been instrumental in driving structural advancements, team growth, and strategic optimizations, helping the company navigate complex challenges. Her professional journey was featured in ACCA Global’s AB Magazine in April 2023, where she shared her experiences and insights.

Beyond her corporate achievements, Emma founded The Empowered Network, a community that inspires individuals to lead purposeful and meaningful lives.

This initiative reflects her broader commitment to personal growth and community empowerment. Emma balances her professional life with her role as a wife and mother of two, drawing daily motivation from her family to excel and serve as a positive role model, especially for her children.

Last year, Emma was recognized as Emerging CFO of the Year at the 4th Instinct Business CFO Awards held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. Emma’s story is one of perseverance, growth, and leadership. Her journey from an Audit Associate to a Finance Director showcases her dedication to excellence and her belief in the power of mentorship.
